Meet the new flagships - The new EPTDA board

The European Power Transmission Distributors Association held its annual general assembly on the occasion of its 10th convention, on Friday 21st September in Monaco. EPTDA members elected their new leaders for 2008.


Marcel Mak, managing director of Spruit Transmissies (The Netherlands), was elected president for the coming twelve months, succeeding Roberto Cugnaschi, vice general manager of Mondial (Italy), now taking on the role of immediate past president. In his directorship, Mak will be supported by François Longeroche, managing director of Centre Roulement (France), elected first vice president, and Manfred Beitel, managing director of WLB Antriebselemente Handelsgesellschaft (Germany), appointed second vice president. John Westerling, business manager of S&N Osakeyhtiö (Finland), will this year look at the EPTDA finances in his new position of Treasurer. David Harrow, managing director of Godiva Bearings (UK), and Mikael Stöhr, Board chairman of AB Sverull (Sweden) will be fulfilling the vacant positions of regular board members. They will meet with their peers, Elena Azcue Taberna, manager of Sociedad Industrial de Transmisiones (Spain), Mehmet Ali Ülgen, managing director of Silkar Otomotiv Sanayi Ve Ticaret (Turkey) who will stay board members at large in 2008.

Piotr Maksymowicz, Distributor Development Manager of SKF Service Division Europe (Belgium), has been appointed as Manufacturer Council chair to voice the interests of EPTDA’s manufacturer members.

The Board of Directors of EPTDA will join efforts this year to further establish the reputation of EPTDA and further develop new initiatives such as charity programme – partnership with UNICEF, ethical policies – fair trade, social and environmental responsibility, and education.
